Privacy Policy — OG Downloader
OG Downloader (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension that helps users preview and download Open Graph images and other images from the webpage they are currently viewing.
1. Data we access
When you use the Extension on a page, it may read website content from the active tab, including:
- Open Graph, Twitter Card, and related meta tags
- Image URLs and image files on the page
- Page title and description when present in meta tags
This access happens only after you open the Extension, use the context menu, or use the keyboard shortcut.
2. How we use this data
Website content is used solely to:
- Show image previews and metadata in the popup
- Download selected image files or a ZIP archive to your Downloads folder
- Copy an image URL or SVG markup to the clipboard when you ask
3. What we do not collect
We do not collect or store:
- Names, emails, passwords, or other personally identifiable information
- Browsing history across sites
- Cookies from websites you visit
- Payment or health information
- Keystrokes, mouse tracking, or analytics about your activity
4. Local storage
The Extension may store only your preferences locally on your device using Chrome storage, such as:
- Selected language
- Selected theme (light / dark / system)
These preferences stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
5. Data transmission
The Extension does not send user data or website content to our servers. We do not operate a backend that receives your browsing data.
Image downloads may involve fetching the image file from the host/CDN that serves it, only to save the file you requested.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.
7. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
